Response time

The response time of a monitor indicates the speed at which pixels on the screen change colour. This speed is measured in milliseconds. Generally, a response time of 1ms is considered suitable for a gaming monitor, but nowadays, there are also monitors (OLED monitors) that offer a response time of 0.3 milliseconds.

Refresh rate

The refresh rate of a monitor indicates how often the screen is refreshed. The more frequently this refresh occurs, the smoother the image appears. This is measured in Hertz (Hz), and generally, a refresh rate higher than 144Hz is considered suitable for a gaming monitor. The latest consoles (such as the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X) can support up to 120Hz.
