Yes, that's possible through our payment partner Klarna. For purchases up to € 1500, you can choose to pay for the product later. If you have any questions about a payment or a declined order, please contact Klarna. As soon as we ship your order, you will receive a digital invoice from Klarna by email. You then have 30 days to make the payment. You can find the payment details on the digital invoice. You can view the complete overview of the invoice and the payment(s) via My Klarna.

Yes, that’s correct. Some items can only be paid for with iDEAL or credit card. E-vouchers, for example, can only be paid for using iDEAL. Additionally, payment in instalments is only available for purchases over €250. Unfortunately, payment in instalments is not possible on the mobile website. The maximum amount for Klarna orders is €1500.
Since 1 June 2016, VVV gift cards are no longer accepted at MediaMarkt.
Yes, you can pay in cash in our stores.

Yes, you can pay in cash in our stores.
Your credit card company may not have authorized the amount to be charged from your account for one of the following reasons:
- the spending limit of your account has been reached;
- you selected the wrong type of credit card, entered an incorrect number, or chose the wrong expiration date when trying to pay;
- there were dashes or spaces in the account number that were not recognized;
- the transaction was not confirmed with a signature, causing the bank to apply a standard security measure and reject the transaction;
- you have only recently started using the card and have not yet activated it.
If none of the above reasons apply to you, we recommend contacting your credit card company or completing the purchase using a different payment method.

Pay afterwards
Yes, that's possible through our payment partner Klarna. For purchases up to € 1500, you can choose to pay for the product later. Klarna determines the allowed spending amount in various ways. If you're buying something through Klarna for the first time, the available spending limit may be lower than the product price.
Klarna performs a check for all orders. Of course, you can also choose another payment method, such as iDEAL, PayPal, and Visa or Mastercard.

This issue may have several causes:
- There is no (positive) balance on the gift card. You can check the balance here.
- The gift card was never loaded or activated.
- If there is another issue or you can’t figure it out, please contact us.

You can check the balance of your gift card at one of our stores. You can also check the balance online on our Gift Card page.
Only gift cards purchased in the Netherlands can be used in our webshop and in one of our stores.
No, the gift cards are produced and dispatched immediately after payment. Therefore, it is unfortunately not possible to cancel the order after payment.
Gift cards cannot be exchanged for cash. In the case of a return of an order that was (partly) paid with gift cards, the refund amount will also be returned as gift card balance.
Since 1 June 2016, VVV gift cards are no longer accepted at MediaMarkt.
Promo codes
If you have a promo code, you can redeem it when purchasing a product as follows:
- Add the products you want to buy to your shopping cart
- Then click on the ‘Checkout’ button
- In step 1 (Shopping cart), enter your promo code in the bar at the bottom left
- Then click on the ‘Redeem’ button
- Check whether the promo code has been accepted and whether the correct amount has been deducted from the purchase price
- Continue with the rest of the order process as usual

Global refund
Anyone residing outside the European Union can reclaim VAT on all purchases made in the Netherlands.
Conditions:
- VAT is 21% of the net amount, which equals 17.36% (=21/121) of the purchase price. The refund is 17.36% minus administrative fees.
- The total purchases (including VAT) must be at least €50,- on a single day in a single store.
- Within 3 months of the purchase month, the Global Refund Cheque must be stamped by customs in the country where the European Union is being exited.
3 steps to VAT refund:
- In-store: Make your purchases in a store with the Tax Free Shopping logo. Spend at least €50 in one day at one store and request a Global Refund Cheque.
- Customs clearance: When leaving the European Union, the Global Refund Cheque must be stamped by customs. To do this, present your unused purchases, the Global Refund Cheque(s), receipt(s), ticket, and passport to customs. The Global Refund Cheque will be validated by customs.
- Refund: You can choose from 4 refund methods:
- Immediate cash refund at the Global Refund Cash Refund Office at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport: Global Refund Cash Refund Office is located in Departure Hall 3, behind check-in desk 22. You can also go to the Global Refund Cash Refund Office at the ABN AMRO Bank in Lounge 2 for control and refund of cheques for hand luggage items.
- Refund to credit card
- Refund to a Dutch bank account
- Cheque sent to your home address: The Global Refund Cash Refund Offices at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport are open from 08:00–19:30, 7 days a week.
Refunds
Yes, if your product meets the return conditions, you will receive the full purchase amount back. If you have used the product more than necessary to determine whether you want to keep it, it no longer meets the return conditions and the product has decreased in value. However, the product may also have lost value after purchase due to (minor) damage, missing parts, etc. In such cases, we will charge for this depreciation.
If the product does not (fully) meet the return conditions, it is worth less. MediaMarkt will then have to incur additional costs to give the product a second life. A portion of these total costs may be charged to you by MediaMarkt as depreciation. The depreciation depends on the condition of the returned product and can range from 0 to 100% of the purchase amount.
MediaMarkt will assess the product you wish to return and determine any applicable depreciation.
As soon as we have cancelled your order or received it at our returns centre, the refund process will begin. The refund will always be made using the same method with which you paid for the product. How quickly the money appears in your account depends on the payment method:
- iDEAL: 2–3 days
- Credit card: 8 days
- Gift card/e-voucher: 8 days (the amount will be refunded to the original gift card)
- In-store payment: 14 days
- Post-payment (Klarna): 14 days
Have you lost your receipt from an in-store purchase? No problem! Please contact us so that we can send you a copy of the receipt. Have you misplaced your receipt from an online purchase?
When we have dispatched your order, you will receive a shipping confirmation along with the invoice. You might be able to find this in your (spam) mailbox. If the receipt is not there, please contact us.
Did you know that when you are a member of the MediaMarkt Club, your receipts are stored online? In your own Club environment, you can find and download all your receipts. Check this page for more information and join the Club!

Paying as a business customer
As a business customer, you benefit from tailored advice, a personal account manager, a large assortment, fast delivery and sales and service points throughout the Netherlands. For example, you can use the latest business laptops with security software, suitable TV screens and projectors for meeting rooms or installed professional coffee machines. Via your account manager, you will quickly and without obligation receive a quote, especially for your company. Register as a business customer to make use of this.

We regularly offer cashbacks from major brands like Samsung, LG, and many others — and for a wide range of products. So, are you looking for a TV, tablet, printer, or kitchen appliance? We might currently have that product in our cashback offer.
With a cashback, you receive part of the purchase amount back after buying a product. A cashback promotion always runs through the manufacturer, not through MediaMarkt.
As long as the promotion is running, you’ll find more information about it on the product page. There you’ll find the terms and conditions and the link to the application form or the manufacturer’s website. This explains exactly how to receive your cashback or free product. You will always receive it after your purchase, never beforehand. It often takes a few weeks before you receive your free product or see the amount in your account.
If a product has both a discount and a cashback, both promotions apply. With a cashback, you receive money back from the manufacturer afterwards. So at the checkout, you still need to pay the full amount first.
