EA Sports FC 27 is one of the biggest games for football fans, created by Electronic Arts and the successor to EA Sports FC 26. Just like in previous editions, you can expect a refreshed gameplay experience with the latest kits, recent transfers, new players and updated ratings based on performances from the past season. In EA Sports FC 27, you'll once again play with your favourite club and footballers across different game modes, such as Kick Off, Manager or Player Career, Clubs and Football Ultimate Team. Ultimate Team in particular has been the most popular game mode in the EA Sports FC series for years and is played the most by many players.

EA Sports FC 27 will be released worldwide on 25 September 2026, but with an EA Play subscription, you'll be able to enjoy it even sooner. With this subscription, you'll get 10 hours of playtime from 18 September 2026 to try the demo before the full game is officially released.

Will EA Sports FC 27 be an open-world game?

One of the biggest rumours surrounding EA Sports FC 27 is the possible introduction of an open world. According to several sources, such as Power Unlimited, this new game mode is currently in a testing phase and could be called 'FC The Grounds'. There's also a rumour that Alex Hunter will return in EA Sports FC 27, this time as a mentor. The mode is said to be inspired by similar concepts from other sports games. Players would reportedly be able to interact with each other, play minigames and complete different challenges. On top of that, there could be room to customise your avatar and move freely through an open world.

Can you play Ultimate Team in EA Sports FC 27?

Football Ultimate Team will once again be one of the main and most popular game modes in EA Sports FC 27, and it will be available straight from the game's release. In Football Ultimate Team, you build your own dream team using Ultimate Team cards, create a squad with your favourite players and compete online against other football fans. By playing matches and competitions, you'll earn rewards, unlock new cards and gradually work towards an even stronger team.

Does EA Sports FC 27 have a licence for the Eredivisie and the Netherlands national team?

Atthe moment, it hasn't been officially confirmed whether EA Sports FC 27 will once again include the licences for the Eredivisie and the Netherlands national team. In previous editions of the game, both the Eredivisie and Oranje were included, so there's a strong chance this will be the case again in FC 27.

This year, Kylian Mbappé features on the cover of EA Sports FC 27. Mbappé plays for Real Madrid and the French national team. Jude Bellingham of Real Madrid was the face of EA Sports FC 25, and in EA Sports FC 26 he shared the spotlight with Jamal Musiala of Bayern Munich.

Which platforms can you play EA FC 27 on?

EA Sports FC 27 will be released for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. According to EA Sports, the Nintendo Switch 2 version is, for the first time, much closer in terms of content and gameplay to the versions on current-generation consoles such as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Cross-play will also return in EA Sports FC 27, so you'll be able to play online with or against other players on PlayStation, Xbox and PC. If you'd rather only play against people on the same platform, you can easily switch off cross-play in the settings.
