A green energy label; good for the environment and your wallet
Sustainability is more important than ever. This applies not only to our buying and eating habits, but also to the electronics in our homes. The energy label of a device shows how energy-efficient it is. To maintain the value of energy labels, there are different labelling systems for different types of devices. Labels range either from A to G or from A+++ to D. Want to know how much you can save per device? Read on to find out.
The savings per product category

Dryer savings
The energy label of a dryer is based on the annual energy consumption. This is measured for both a full and a half-full drum.
New energy labels for dryers: here's what you need to know
Starting July 1st, 2025, all dryers will have a new energy label with stricter rules, so it’s easier to see which models are actually economical. The label runs from A (super-efficient) to G (less efficient), with stricter requirements for energy consumption. As a result, your current A+++ dryer may soon have a C label. The consumption remains the same – only the way of measuring changes. The new label is based on 100 drying cycles using the mandatory Eco-program. During the transition phase, you can temporarily find 2 labels with your dryer: the old one and the new one. Which helps you to see the difference immediately. Besides the new energy label, you’ll also find pictograms and a QR code. Scan the code for extra technical info and easily compare your energy consumption.
Dishwasher savings
The new energy label for dishwashers is based on the washing and drying performance of the appliance when cups, pans, and plastic tableware are used, and by testing the eco programme. As with washing machines, energy consumption is based on 100 wash cycles.
| Property name | Annual energy consumption | Annual energy costs | Annual savings |
|---|---|---|---|
| A | 54 kWh | €19,44 | €18,00 |
| B | 64 kWh | €23,04 | €14,40 |
| C | 74 kWh | €26,64 | €10,80 |
| D | 85 kWh | €30,60 | €6,84 |
| E | 93 kWh | €33,48 | €3,96 |
| F | 104 kWh | €37,44 | €- |
*average price of €0.36 per kWh (October 2023)
Monitor savings
The energy label for monitors is based on the screen surface area and a standardised measured power consumption. The energy label for monitors ranges from A to G. Monitors intended for professional use are not required to have an energy rating.
| Property name | Annual energy consumption | Annual energy costs | Annual savings |
|---|---|---|---|
| B | 9 kWh | €3,24 | €7,56 |
