VIOFO A229 Pro 2CH 4K Wifi GPS Dashcam

The Viofo A229 Pro 2CH is the long-awaited successor to the popular and reliable A229 series. Viofo has updated both the design and specifications. The Viofo A229 Pro 2CH records in 4K resolution at the front and QuadHD (2K) at the rear. Combined with a built-in Sony Starvis 2 image sensor, the A229 Pro delivers razor-sharp images, both front and rear, and in all conditions.

Dual 4K + Quad HD recordings

Because the Viofo A229 Pro 2CH is equipped with two cameras, recording can be done both in front of and behind the car. The Viofo A229 Pro 2CH records in 4K resolution at the front and QuadHD (2K) at the rear. The rear camera is connected to the front camera with a long supplied cable of 6 meters. The images from the rear camera are stored separately on the SD card. On the 2.4-inch HD LCD screen, the rear camera is displayed via PiP (Picture in Picture) on one-quarter of the screen.

Optional extended rear camera (waterproof)

Optionally, the 14.5-meter long RWC200 waterproof rear camera is available (see accessories). This 2K rear camera can be used for longer vehicles without a rear window, such as panel vans or campers. Due to the IP67 classification, the RWC200 can be mounted outdoors without any problems.

Dual-Band Wifi

The Viofo A229 Pro 2CH is equipped with dual-band Wifi (5 GHz), ensuring very fast file transfer and a highly reliable network. Via the Viofo App, images can be viewed and downloaded directly on any iOS and Android phone and tablet via Wifi.

Including CPL filter

With the included CPL filter, optimal protection and image quality are guaranteed under sunny conditions. The CPL filter acts like a pair of polarized sunglasses for the dashcam. Harmful UV radiation is filtered out and annoying reflections are eliminated. This improves the image quality and durability of the camera. The CPL-300 filter is optionally available for the rear camera (see accessories).

2x SONY Starvis sensor

The Viofo A229 Pro 2CH records in 4K + QuadHD (2K) image quality. Thanks to the super-fast Novatek 96660 chip in combination with the two SONY sensors, all details are clearly visible, even in the dark.

Automatic parking mode

The Viofo A229 Plus Duo 4K Wifi is equipped with an automatic parking mode with motion detection or Time Lapse. With motion detection, the camera is on standby and starts a 30-second recording when motion is detected. With Time Lapse, the camera continuously records a 1fps video that can later be played back as a 30fps video (accelerated). This way, evidence is always available if the car is damaged while parked.

Please note: The automatic parking mode only works if the dashcam is used with the Viofo HK4 permanent power supply (see accessories). When connected, the camera will automatically switch to parking mode when the car's ignition is turned off and return to normal recording when the car is started.

Bluetooth SOS button (optional)

With the convenient optional Viofo A229 Plus Duo 4K Wifi Bluetooth SOS button, a manual SOS recording can be started on the Viofo A229 Pro 2CH with a single press of a button. The SOS button can be easily connected to the Viofo A229 Pro 2CH by turning on the dashcam and holding the button down for 3 seconds. The blue indicator LED on the button will light up blue if the connection is established successfully. The SOS button can be mounted at any desired location within the vehicle using the included adhesive pad.

GPS module

The Viofo A229 Pro 2CH comes standard with a GPS module. The GPS allows the current speed to be displayed on the screen. This can be crucial evidence in case of an incident. Furthermore, the GPS remembers the locations where the dashcam has filmed. The recorded route can therefore be viewed via the software on the PC.

2.4 inch HD LCD screen

This Viofo A229 Pro 2CH dashcam has a 2.4-inch HD LCD screen. Live images are displayed on the screen, and the menu can be easily operated. The built-in screensaver automatically turns off the LCD screen after a set number of minutes if desired, so it does not distract the driver.

140˚ + 160˚ wideview lens

With the 140˚ + 160˚ wideview 'fish eye' lens, the Viofo A229 Pro 2CH has a large range and records almost everything in its surroundings.

1.8 aperture 7G lens

With the 1.8 aperture at the front and 1.9 aperture at the rear, combined with a 7G lens, a lot of light is captured, resulting in very good image quality both day and night.

HDR

Thanks to HDR (High Dynamic Range) technology, the camera is capable of generating sharp images in very high and very low light intensity. This allows the camera to record razor-sharp images both during the day with ample light and at night with low light.

WDR

The Viofo A229 Pro 2CH is equipped with WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) hardware. This allows the dashcam to automatically adjust the light intensity depending on the environment. WDR thus guarantees the best image quality under varying conditions.

Auto start

The Viofo A229 Pro 2CH dashcam automatically starts recording when the car is started. You don't have to worry about it once it's mounted in the car. This requires it to be connected to the car's power supply.

G-sensor

Thanks to the built-in G-sensor, the Viofo A229 Pro 2CH dashcam detects when you've had an accident. In case of an impact, footage is automatically secured and saved so it won't be lost. It cannot be overwritten and cannot be deleted via the dashcam.

AV output

Via the AV output, the dashcam's image can be displayed on an external monitor, such as the car's built-in navigation system. An AV cable is required to transfer the images.

Super capacitor battery

The Viofo A229 Pro 2CH is equipped with a super capacitor battery. This battery ensures that the camera can shut down properly after the power is lost. Super capacitor batteries are specially developed for use in dashcams because they are more durable than regular Polymer Li-ion batteries and are also more resistant to high and low temperatures.

Built-in microphone

Thanks to the built-in microphone in this dashcam, sound inside and around the car is also recorded. The microphone can be turned off if desired.
