In addition to the 16mm F1.4 DC DN Contemporary and the 30mm F1.4 DC DN Contemporary, there is now the 56mm F1.4 DC DN Contemporary: the smallest F1.4 mid-telephoto lens in its class for APS-C mirrorless cameras.
Exceptionally bright and very sharp, features that characterize the F1.4 Contemporary line. With also in the 56mm a whistling silent HSM motor for accurate and very smooth autofocus, ideal for videographers.
The lens is also compatible with Hybrid AF for Sony E-mount, for example, for the use of eye tracking
Quality approaching the Art line
To achieve this compact size, development was based on the mirrorless cameras' ability to correct the amount of peripheral light and aberrations.
By additionally equipping the 56mm F1.4 DC DN Contemporary with a special low dispersion (SLD) element, axial chromatic aberration is minimized. These combined features provide image quality approaching the Art line.
