A world-first in its class
The SIGMA 16mm F1.4 DC DN Contemporary is the world's first interchangeable 24mm (35mm equivalent) F1.4 lens, developed specifically for mirrorless Sony E-mount APS-C cameras and Micro Four Thirds cameras: 32mm (35mm equivalent).
The lens meets the requirements of the Contemporary line, this means an unprecedented compact size combined with performance that sets the tone in their class.
The 16mm F1.4 DN Contemporary is the long-awaited successor to the highly successful standard lens in this category, the 30mm F1.4 DC DN Contemporary.
Quality approaching the Art line
As many as 16 elements in 13 groups have been employed, including FLD ("F" low-dispersion equivalent to fluorite glass) and SLD (special low-dispersion) elements, for good control of sagittal coma flare, among other things.
The 9 aperture blades also provide very attractive bokeh, achieving optical performance approaching the Art line.
The whisper-quiet Hyper Sonic Motor (HSM) additionally makes the 16mm F1.4 DN Contemporary an excellent choice for videographers. The brass mount has a dust- and splashproof finish.
