The Nintendo Switch Lite is a new addition to the Nintendo Switch family and is a compact, lightweight system with integrated controls.

On the Nintendo Switch Lite, you can play all Nintendo Switch games that support the handheld style. The system is ideal for those who like to play on the go and for those who like to play online or locally with friends or family who already own a flagship model of the Nintendo Switch.

Because the Nintendo Switch Lite is specially made for handheld gaming, you cannot connect it to a TV.

Features that require additional Joy-Con controllers on the Nintendo Switch Lite
If a game supports Joy-Con features such as the HD rumble function, the infrared motion camera, and motion controls, you will not be able to use certain features with only a Nintendo Switch Lite. For such features, you will need Joy-Con controllers (sold separately).

You need a rechargeable Joy-Con grip or a flagship Nintendo Switch model (HAC-001) to charge Joy-Con controllers. These products are sold separately.

To play games that do not support the handheld style, you can wirelessly connect Joy-Con controllers (sold separately) to the Nintendo Switch Lite. You also need a device to charge Joy-Con controllers, such as the rechargeable Joy-Con grip. Visit the Nintendo eShop or check the back of a game package for information on which play styles are supported.

Multiplayer with up to eight systems
Local multiplayer
Players can link up to eight Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch Lite systems to play together or against each other in multiplayer games.

Online multiplayer
