Graphics

The 15-inch MacBook Pro features a separate Radeon Pro graphics processor, which delivers impressive performance while being remarkably economical. And now we've given each individual GPU 4GB of GDDR5 memory as standard, so real-time rendering of 3D titles in Final Cut Pro X, for example, is surprisingly smooth. The 13-inch model with Touch Bar features powerful integrated graphics with 128 MB of embedded DRAM memory to speed up graphics tasks. So you have more time for what matters most: creating great work.

Radeon Pro Vega graphics.

Discrete-level Radeon Pro Vega GPUs are also available for the 15-inch MacBook Pro, a first for notebooks. These Vega GPUs feature the same architecture as the graphics in iMac Pro, an improved compute engine and HBM2 (High Bandwidth Memory) memory. HBM2 doubles the memory bandwidth to the GPU, but consumes much less power in the process. This leaves more for the GPU itself. All this leads to significantly better graphics performance - up to 60 percent better than the Radeon Pro 560X - in demanding video, 3D, rendering and compute tasks.

Apple T2 Security chip
Next-level security.

MacBook Pro features the Apple T2 Security chip, our second-generation Mac silicon chip that makes everything you do even more secure. The Apple T2 Security chip is in the 13-inch and 15-inch models with Touch Bar and features a Secure Enclave coprocessor that provides the foundation for secure boot and encrypted storage. Integrated into the chip are several controllers, such as the system management controller, audio controller and SSD controller. And thanks to the T2 Security chip, your MacBook Pro sounds even more familiar: "Hey Siri" is now always ready to open apps, search for files, play music or answer your questions.

Thunderbolt 3 is an advanced universal port that combines ultra-high bandwidth with the tremendous versatility of USB-C. The port can be used for data transfer, charging and video output, and has a throughput of up to 40 Gb/s. That's twice as fast as Thunderbolt 2. Both sizes of MacBook Pro with Touch Bar have four ports. So choose the side that suits you best. Your devices connect easily with a cable or adapter. Instead of function keys, you'll find the versatile Touch Bar at the top of your keyboard. It automatically adjusts as you work, then shows you relevant tools you can use intuitively. The MacBook Pro's Retina display is the best ever in a MacBook. It has bright LED backlighting and a high contrast ratio. This makes black and white tones stand out especially well. The display supports wide color reproduction (P3) for even nicer greens and reds than sRGB. And the 13-inch and 15-inch models with Touch Bar have True Tone technology. It automatically adjusts the white balance to the color temperature of ambient light for a more natural look. MacBook Pro has beautifully balanced hi-fi sound with a wide dynamic range and beautiful deep bass. You won't know what you're hearing.
