Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald; At the end of the first film, the powerful Dark Magician Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) was captured by MACUSA (Magical Congress of the United States of America) with the help of Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne). But, he makes good on his threats and Grindelwald escapes from his captivity. He has set his sights on gathering as many followers as possible who know nothing of his true intentions: to raise wizards of pure blood to rule over all non-magical beings. In an effort to thwart Grindelwald's plans, Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) summons his former student Newt Scamander, who agrees to help but is unaware of the dangers ahead. Lines are drawn and love and loyalty are tested, even between the most loyal friends and families. Divisions in the magical world are growing.
