Doble-R – Rignald Recordiño – has phenomenally established his name in the music history of Curaçao as a composer and lyricist. In the Netherlands, we mainly know him from the songs Ban Poko Poko and Zullen we maar weer (een potje dansen). In forty years, Doble- R wrote more than 600 songs, giving the Antillean and Curaçao community musical color. A great figure on the island and in Curaçao dance music who more than deserves this tribute with a tribute concert and documentary. For the first time in history, an orchestra of the stature of the Metropole Orchestra is playing this traditional Antillean dance music on a large concert stage.
