A fridge‑freezer is a fridge with a freezer compartment. This compartment is located either at the top or bottom of the fridge. A fridge with the freezer at the top is often more energy‑efficient than models with the freezer at the bottom. The downside of models with the freezer at the top is that you have to bend further to reach items in the fridge compartment. That’s why the bottom‑freezer variant is more popular. The freezer compartment almost always has 2 separate doors. This is to separate the fridge and freezer sections. Sometimes the freezer is integrated into the fridge compartment, often at the top. Fridge‑freezers also feature the No Frost function. This function removes moisture from the air in the freezer and fridge, preventing frost or ice build‑up in either compartment.
