What is a hygrometer?

Just as a thermometer indicates the temperature, a hygrometer measures the relative humidity. You can measure this separately for every room indoors. This way you can find out if, and if so, to what extent, there is too much or too little moisture. A hygrometer indicates the relative humidity as a percentage. A value between 40 and 60 percent is good.

What is relative humidity?

Relative humidity indicates the ratio between the water vapor in the air and the amount of moisture the air can hold at a given temperature. If the air is completely saturated with water vapor at a certain ambient temperature, the relative humidity is 100%. If the amount of moisture in the air then increases, it begins to condense.
