What is DIN 4556 standard?

DIN 4556 is a standard for footrests that provides guidelines that a good footrest must meet. This concerns on the one hand the dimensions of the footboard and on the other hand the adjustment options. According to this standard, the footboard of the footrest must be at least 45 x 35 cm (W x D) and must also be non-slip. The height must be adjustable at least between 5 and 11 cm (height at the front to the ground). Furthermore, the angle of inclination must be easily adjustable and fixable, or the footrest must have a fixed angle between 5 and 15°.
