The Kingston IronKey Vault Privacy 80 external SSD is Kingston's first innovative OS-independent hardware-secured external SSD with touchscreen for data protection. The VP80ES protects against Brute Force attacks and BadUSB with digitally signed firmware. Brute Force attack protection ensures the drive is cryptographically erased by default if the administrator and user passwords are entered incorrectly 15 times* in a row. The drive is FIPS 197 certified with XTS-AES 256-bit encryption using a Common Criteria EAL5+ (CC EAL5+) certified secure microprocessor and meets TAA requirements.

Besides unlocking a smartphone and simple drag-and-drop file transfers, the VP80ES offers the ability to protect data while remaining user-friendly. With an intuitive color touchscreen and a multi-password option (administrator and user) with numeric PIN or passphrase, the Vault Privacy 80ES is superior to using internet and cloud services to protect data.

Whether it's critical business information, customer documents, or high-resolution images and videos, the drive is ideal for small to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) and content creators. The product comes with two USB 3.2 Gen 1 adapter cables, USB Type-C®** to Type-A and Type-C to Type-C, for easy connection to computers and other devices. The administrator can enable a user password and set security options, such as configuring password requirements by setting the maximum number of shared attempts, the minimum password length of 6-64 characters, and alphanumeric password rules. Additionally, you can use the space character, making it easier to remember a passphrase as a list of words, a memorable quote, or lyrics from a favorite song. Alternatively, use the PIN to unlock, just as you would on a mobile device and to reduce failed login attempts and frustration by tapping the "eye" button to view the entered password.
As an added feature, if a user password is forgotten, the administrator password can be used to access data and restore user access.
