Common Interface Plus TV module (CI+ 1.3 TV module)

The Quantis Interactive CI+ 1.3 module (Common Interface Plus) can be used in the Netherlands to receive Digital TV from Ziggo, CAIWAY, Delta and KabelNoord, among others. Most TV manufacturers market TVs in which you can insert a CI+ 1.3 module. To ensure that the CI+ module works properly, the TVs are certified by the cable companies. You can find an overview of certified TVs on your TV provider's website.

What do I need?

• A CI+ 1.3 or 1.4 certified television
• Quantis Interactive CI+ 1.3 Irdeto module< /li>
• Smartcard from Ziggo
• Cable connection from Ziggo, CAIWAY, Delta (Zeeland) or KabelNoord
• Internet connection

Installation

Installing a Quantis Interactive CI+ 1.3 module is extremely simple. In four steps you are ready to enjoy razor-sharp picture quality and Interactive TV.

Follow the steps below to install the Quantis Interactive CI+ 1.3 module:

Step 1: Connect the TV to the coax connection and to the Internet. Refer to the TV's manual.

Note: Do not insert the Quantis CI+ module into the TV yet!

Step 2: Install Digital Television according to the TV's manual and set the frequency and network number applicable to your address. The TV installation is correctly completed when you receive Ned 1 HD at position 1.

Step 3: Insert the smart card into the Quantis Interactive CI+ 1.3 module. Hold the Quantis CI+ module with the orange side facing up. Then insert the smart card (chip side facing up) into the CI+ module.

Step 4: Insert the Quantis Interactive CI+ 1.3 module with smart card into the TV. The orange side of the CI+ module faces backwards during insertion. The CI+ module does not go all the way into the device. You automatically feel when it is inserted far enough into the TV.

When you insert the Quantis Interactive CI+ 1.3 module into your TV for the first time, these devices verify each other. This process is called authentication. During this process, 5 steps are automatically displayed. You don't have to do anything for this. If this authentication process is successful, the Quantis Interactive CI+ module and TV are ready for use.
