The Alecto AQ30 CO2 meter is a professional air quality meter that specifically measures the carbon dioxide concentration (CO2) in the air. The CO2 level is a good indication of the air quality in your home. And a measure of good ventilation in rooms where people are present. Good air quality is important for our health and well-being. With this CO2 meter, you gain insight into this air quality and know when to take action. Ideal for monitoring and creating healthy indoor air at home, at school, or at work.
In addition to the professional NDIR sensor for CO2, the relative humidity (RH) and temperature are also measured. This way, you are always aware of the indoor climate and know when to ventilate.
Important features
- Always know when to ventilate
- Ideal for proactively monitoring air quality at home, at school, in hospitality, or at work
- Create a good living climate with healthy indoor air
- Professional NDIR sensor with a lifespan of 10 years
- Accurate and stable NDIR measurements over a long period
- ISO Certification EN 61326-1:2013
- Color indication for air quality (green, orange, red)
High-quality NDIR sensor
The Alecto AQ30 air quality meter features a highly accurate, high-quality NDIR sensor. This ensures accurate NDIR measurements that remain stable over a long period. This CO2 meter is ISO certified EN 61326-1:2013 and developed in accordance with the 2014/30/EU standard. Reliability and safety are paramount.
The AQ30 CO2 meter complies with all requirements described in the Building Decree. This includes, among other things, that the CO2 meter operates continuously on mains power, that the device calibrates itself automatically, and that it is equipped with 3 color codes. Therefore, the monitor is not wireless. Although this carbon dioxide meter has an integrated backup battery, which ensures data retention when the AQ30 is moved.
Traffic light color indicator for air quality
The actual CO2 level can be read directly on the LCD screen of the Alecto AQ30. The handy traffic light color indicator makes the values easy to interpret. Green (all okay), orange (improvement possible), or red (unhealthily high). If the carbon dioxide level is too high, an alarm signal will sound. You can set the lower and upper limits yourself, determining when the LED indicator turns green, orange, or red.
Is CO2 dangerous?
CO2 is not flammable or toxic. However, a high amount of CO2 can have consequences for your health.
A high concentration of CO2 in the room displaces oxygen absorption in our body. This can cause symptoms such as fatigue, loss of concentration, headaches, dry skin or eyes.
A lot of CO2 indicates a lack of ventilation, and it is therefore plausible that other, possibly harmful substances are also present and remain in the indoor environment. For example, mold and fine dust. This can worsen allergies and promote the transmission of infectious diseases (colds, flu, coronavirus, and the like). A stuffy or stale air is also often caused by a too high CO2 level.
What is a healthy living climate?
Carbon dioxide (CO2) is measured in parts per million (ppm). A CO2 level of 400 to 800 ppm is ideal. The room is well ventilated. For comparison: The average level outdoors is often around 400 ppm. In a non-ventilated room where people are present, the CO2 level slowly rises due to constant exhalation. A concentration of 800 to 1,000 ppm is acceptable, but ventilation is desirable. 1200 ppm is the upper limit. A CO2 value above 1200 ppm is poor, ventilation is necessary.
Improving air quality
It is difficult to know for yourself when there is a good living climate and when not. And if you do notice it yourself, it is often too late! With the Alecto AQ30 CO2 meter, you always have insight and know when to ventilate. Ventilation is becoming increasingly important, especially as our homes become better insulated. New homes, on the other hand, are often equipped with mechanical ventilation, but these systems are sometimes turned off due to the noise they make.
When you ventilate the house with the windows wide open, you will notice that the CO2 level in the house also approaches the low values from outside. After closing the windows, however, the levels quickly rise again. Especially in the bedroom, the CO2 level can rise to extremely high levels at night if the windows/doors and ventilation grilles are kept closed.
