Borosilicate glass

Where most food containers are made of plastic, the alpina food containers with lids are made of borosilicate glass. Borosilicate is stronger than normal glass, which is quite special as it weighs less. Typical for borosilicate glass is that it does not expand with heat and does not shrink when it gets cold, as in the freezer. Each alpina food container is, thanks to this material, resistant to temperatures from -40 degrees in the freezer to 300 degrees in the oven. When you put a food container in the oven with its lid, it can withstand a temperature of up to 100 degrees.

Thanks to the sturdy borosilicate glass, an alpina food container can withstand heat and cold well.
