Gread sound and NC but Sony as usually released half-baked product
Sound quality,Noise Cancelation,Comfort,Long lasting,Touch control
Cannot connect to more than 1 device via Bluetooth,If no music is playing they'll turn off in 5 mins,Useless Ambient button
TLDR - Half baked product with great hardware but poor software, Multipoint Bluetooth connectivity is falsely advertised
I was choosing between Bose QC35 and Sony MDR-1000x. After I tested them in the market I found that Sony sounds better (note that if you compare them you should compare either connecting both of them by BT or by wire, you shouldn't compare BT with wire because BT lowers the sound quality by a bit) for me than QC35 and noise cancellation is better too. So I decided to buy it and after some testing at home I found that I can not connect to more than one device (no Multipoint Bluetooth connectivity). Bose QC35 on the other hand can connect to 2 devices which may be useful when you want to listen to music from your laptop but don't want to miss a mobile call. I contacted the Sony support for that and in the beginning they were playing dumb but then confirmed that it doesn't work that way, although documentation guide says that it should work.
Also one of my goals for buying was to get headphones which I can wear and enjoy the silence in open-space office. But to my surprise Sony are turning off after 5 minutes of silence. So now I have to play some ambient music to keep them on.
And for the last, there is a button for Ambient, what it does and what is use case I wasn't able to understand. I don't see how that can be useful to me at all.
